Evolved By Nature was proud to be a part of Fashinnovation’s 3rd Worldwide Talks at New York Fashion Week this year! Our Co-Founder and CEO, Dr. Greg Altman, engaged in an illuminating discussion on the importance of sustainable materials and chemistries within the fashion industry. Right on our bodies' surface resides trillions of microorganisms- bacteria, fungi, viruses, - all of them calling our skin home. The microbiome, a biodiverse colony of little beings, keeps the skin healthy and glowing. In the age where pollutants, contagions, and more, are increasing in scale and variation, our skin needs protection. However, the urge to protect against these threats must be paired with ensuring our skin’s microbiome is in balance. Toxicants often found in synthetic skincare do more damage to the microbiome than good- typically stripping the natural systems that maintain skin health. So, where’s the happy medium?
