This is pretty well understood (we think?). But things like apparel and furniture are also made of ingredients. It's not just the material you see, the leather or textiles, it's also the chemicals that are used to give it performance, look and feel, durability, etc. Those ingredients are put on or next to our skin. And they end up in the environment when we wash the skincare off or dispose of the apparel. Which is very hard, because there are not many agreed-upon definitions for sustainable claims or concepts. 🌍️🤍🤷🏻⁠ ⁠ Different companies can use the same term to mean different things.
